Imagine the smartest people in the world working on cancer.

The Anupa Foundation is a public benefit corporation working to cure cancer. We’re raising money to recruit exceptional people from every discipline and give them the pay and prestige to choose this work over a hedge fund or a software company.

Cells drawn in the pink and purple of an H&E stain, the dye pathologists use to read tissue for cancer.

Talent goes where the pay and the prestige are.

Every year, many of the most brilliant people alive go into hedge funds and software. That’s a reasonable response to where the rewards are. The Anupa Foundation exists to make curing cancer the most rewarding work a brilliant person can choose.

Pay that competes with anything

We intend to pay like the best offers in finance and technology, so no one has to choose between their family’s future and the most important work of their life.

Prestige that outranks everything

An offer from the Anupa Foundation should be the most respected offer a person can get: proof you were chosen to work on one of the hardest problems in the world.

Oncologists and immunologists. Mathematicians and physicists. Machine learning researchers, chemists, engineers and statisticians. The best people from every discipline that can move this problem forward.

Why I’m doing this

A letter from Vivaan Rajput, founder

Hi,

My name is Vivaan Rajput, and I want to help cure cancer.

This is personal. My mother has thymic carcinoma, a rare cancer of the thymus, the small organ behind the breastbone where the immune system trains its T cells.

I’m not doing this for personal gain. I would be happy with no salary, no equity and no stock. I want to use what I’m good at to help the world, and I’m raising money to do it.

Imagine a world where the smartest people from every discipline work with the Anupa Foundation. A world where the people who would otherwise build hedge funds or software companies choose something of international importance instead, because it offers great pay and extraordinary prestige.

That is the foundation I’m building. If you can help with funding, advice or an introduction, I would love to hear from you.

Thanks,
Vivaan Rajput
cancer’s villain
